Knicks give Dylan Windler a chance

Released by the Cavaliers, who had not offered him a “qualifying offer” just before the opening of the market, Dylan Windler will continue his career new Yorkwhere he signed a two-way contract, ESPN announcement.

One could even say that he will try to really launch his career with the Knickshe who has only played 84 games over the last three seasons due to repeated physical glitches, after having had a white rookie season (2019/20), upon leaving Belmont University (26th choice of the Draft 2019).

If his health holds, Dylan Windler will have a chance to make a fresh start in New York, four painful years after his arrival in the NBA. To find rhythm, sensations and we imagine confidence, the 26-year-old rear / winger will undoubtedly spend time in the G-League, at first, before hoping to obtain the confidence of Tom Thibodeau.

Note, however, that the New York club now has four players under a “two-way contract”: Trevor Keels, Jaylen Martin, Nathan Knight and therefore Dylan Windler, while the maximum authorized is three contracts of this type. Which therefore suggests that one of these four players will soon have the good surprise of seeing his contract transformed into a classic contract, while the Knicks still have a vacant place in their workforce… or the bad surprise of losing his place.
