Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole remain in the dark

While they absolutely had to win this game, the Warriors lost on the floor of the Lakers, and are now led 3-1 in their Western Conference semi-final. However, Golden State made the best impression for three quarters, even counting up to twelve points ahead. But now, Steve Kerr’s men exploded in the last 12 minutes (27-17), completely missing their “money-time”.

If Stephen Curry, even clumsy and borrowed in the last minute, responded offensively with a triple-double, this is not the case for Klay Thompson nor of Jordan Poole. The two players, who were supposed to be the team’s second and third scoring options, went completely through.

Klay Thompson who forces

The other “Splash Brother”, after a superb Game 2, has completely lost his marksmanship in Los Angeles. We know that Klay Thompson can chain attempts without thinking too much, and almost never posing a dribble. But then, when the baskets no longer fit and he is looking for rhythm, the back of the Warriors is quite difficult to watch with a multitude of forced shots and out-of-system actions.

Result ? He shot 5/14 and then 3/11 on Games 3 and 4 respectively.

“I trust Clay” yet repeats Steve Kerr. “Think of everything he has done for this team. It’s part of his game, he’s going to keep shooting. There were a few shots late in the game that he probably would have liked to take back, but that’s part of who we are as a team.”.

At his side, Jordan Poole continues his catastrophic playoffs. Extended last summer for 128 million dollars over four years, he is currently shooting at 10.5 points at 34.2% shooting including 27.8% from 3-pointers in the postseason…

During Game 4, the nightmare continued for the player who only played 10 minutes for no points!

“The work ethic doesn’t change. The routine does not change » assured Jordan Poolelogically not very talkative in the locker room. “Maybe the opportunities change, but you can only control what you can control. We have another game in a few days, at home.”.

Jordan Poole letting go

While he was already targeted in defense, the rear also becomes a weak point in attack for Golden State. His offensive choices seem to annoy his teammates but also Steve Kerr, who therefore only played 10 minutes in Game 4. Even if, publicly, Jordan Poole is still supported by his people.

“You ask a lot of questions about him but you have to talk about the whole team” explained Stephen Curry about Jordan Poole. “We are together in the sense that we are trying to find the solution to win playoff games. We all have to make adjustments, we all have to play better given that we are down 3-1. There’s no point isolating him (Poole) in this situation.”.

Same story on the side of Steve Kerr who does not want to push his player, already in bad shape.

“It just wasn’t his night. He was not on his plate” concluded the Warriors coach. “We had other guys playing well, Moses Moody came in and did a great job, Donte came in and gave us some good minutes, Gary obviously gave us a big boost starting the game”.

But the coach, who has already changed his major five several times to keep the scarecrow Anthony Davis off the racket, while trying in particular to control D’Angelo Russell, may well run out of solutions if Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole continue to fight. artillery in the void during the continuation of the series.
