Kings owner to initiate new Hawaii donation

The NBA and Californian professional sports franchises continue to mobilize to contribute to the movement in support of the victims of the Lahaina fire, located on the island of Maui, Hawaii.

A week ago, they had already raised nearly $450,000 in donations, including the Clippers and Lakers listed among the contributors. The Clippers will also hold training camp Oct. 3-9 and play a preseason game against the Jazz on Oct. 8 at the University of Hawaii in Manoa. All game proceeds will be donated to the Maui Strong Fund.

Yesterday, the Kings took part in a new donation of $90,500 through the Kings Foundation and its owner, Vivek Ranadive. In particular accompanied by the Jacobs and Kehriotis families, minority shareholders, the owner of the Californian franchise formalized the news yesterday.

“Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the catastrophic Maui fires. This beautiful island means so much to so many people, and we are committed to supporting the community and their healing efforts,” so he said.
