Khris Middleton finally reaches the end of the “hardest” rehabilitation of his career

Even if he would have liked to get rid of the label of fragile player, Khris Middleton has experienced quite a few injuries and rehabilitation over the years. But as he prepares to make his return this evening, against the Celtics, the Bucks winger assures that this one, after his two summer ankle operations, was the most delicate.

“It was the most difficult for me, simply because there were two operations” he confides before his return. “I was trying to find balance on both feet, without trying to compensate because that could create other problems. So it was hard to come back, mentally, physically. To feel comfortable and confident. »

That’s why even though he had the green light from the doctors for some time, he took his time.

“Now I feel good, enough to be able to play. The medical green light, I don't know how it came out so quickly, but I didn't like it. Guys get medical green lights all the time, but that doesn't mean they can go on the field and play. You have to be careful, you have to know your body and listen to it. And at that moment, my body was telling me that I wasn't ready, even though the doctors said the opposite. »

From now on, we will have to dive back into the heart of the marathon of the regular season, within a team which is doing better but which still remains fragile (11 victories – 10 defeats, 5th place in the East).

“I’m not worried at all (about his integration). I've been playing basketball for a very long time, I've played in a lot of systems, I've watched what the guys do and I've heard them talk in the video sessions. I may have forgotten some things, and that's okay, but I don't think it will be too big of a problem. »
