Khem Birch to (already) replace Luka Samanic at Fenerbahce?

Any movement coming in the Fenerbahce racket? According to local media Sports Digitalethe Turkish club would be on the verge of reaching an agreement with Khem BirchA choice that could raise questions at first glance, given that the club had already recruited Luka Samanic this summer from Jazz.

Except that Fenerbahce is already looking to get rid of him! To replace him, the Istanbul-based team is reportedly banking on the Canadian pivot, seen in the national team this summer at the Olympic Games (averaging around 3 points and 3 rebounds).

He played in the Spanish championship last season, in Girona, where he averaged around 9 points and 6 rebounds. Before that, the Montreal native had shown himself in the NBA. Undrafted, he had made a place for himself as a substitute pivot at the Magic starting in 2017.

Khem Birch had more opportunities to be a starter with his second NBA franchise, the Raptors. During the end of the 2020/21 season, he even came close to a double-double average (12 points and 8 rebounds over 20 games).

It should be noted that Fenerbahce resumes its Euroleague season on October 4, against Olympiacos.
