Kevon Looney left to stay with the Warriors

The off-season promises to be eventful Golden State because, in addition to the (complex) re-signing of Klay Thompson and the Chris Paul file, the leaders must decide this week about the future of Kevin Looney.

Present among Warriors since 2015, the pivot is not yet guaranteed to return next season, since only 3 of the 8 million dollars in his contract are currently guaranteed. To alleviate its finances, the franchise could decide to part ways with its valiant soldier, who would then have no shortage of suitors on the market.

Except that, according to The Athletic, Golden State is reportedly not considering releasing Kevon Looney, but rather fully guaranteeing his salary for the 2024–25 season. Offering, therefore, the possibility of integrating it into a transfer to strengthen itself in the weeks to come…

Among Steve Kerr's preferred and trusted players, the 28-year-old three-time NBA champion has gradually disappeared from the Warriors' rotation this season (4.5 points, 5.7 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 16 minutes). But his leadership remains appreciated and his voice remains heard, especially to help young Trayce Jackson-Davis.
