With his 31 points in the victory against the Mavericks, Kevin Durant made NBA history. How ? Because he became only the eighth player to exceed 29,000 career points!
The others are obviously those ahead of him in the list of all-time leading scorers: LeBron James, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan, Dirk Nowitzki and Wilt Chamberlain.
“I have to salute everyone who has helped me since I was a kid, to the teammates who passed me the ball, who set screens for me, to the coaches who designed systems for me”, he reacted.
Kevin Durant now has 29,010 points scored since his arrival in the Big League in 2007.
The next step is therefore to cross the 30,000 points mark and the winger will need around thirty matches to achieve this. On the other hand, to double Wilt Chamberlain (31,419 units), we will still have to wait.
“What a tribute to an immense talent. I feel incredibly lucky to know him every day”concludes his coach Mike Budenholzer, who took advantage of the winger's talent to achieve his first official victory at the head of the team, last night, against the Mavericks.
