Kevin Durant should regain his starting place against France!

30, 30, 29. That's it for the scoring performances of Kevin Durant in his first three Olympic finals (2012, 2016 and 2021). He obviously won them all (more or less easily) and, this Saturday evening, “KD” will set out in search of his… fourth Olympic gold medal. Quite simply a men's record in the history of the Olympic Games, for a basketball player!

Accustomed to shining on the biggest international stage, the winger will have the opportunity to demonstrate it once again at Bercy Arena and, for the occasion, Steve Kerr is considering naming him a starter! An indiscretion that comes to us from The Athletic and which we did not necessarily expect, since the American coach suggested that he would remain the 6th luxury man until the end of the tournament (but with increased playing time).

No doubt that Team USA does not want to miss his start of the game like against Serbia and, to allow Kevin Durant to integrate the five, it is Jrue Holiday who would be left on the bench. Consequently, Stephen Curry, Devin Booker, LeBron James and Joel Embiid will accompany the Suns player in the midfield.

Since the start of the Olympics, “KD” has averaged 13.6 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal, shooting 58% (including 61% from 3-point range) and 93% from the free throw line. Even though he only plays 21 minutes per game, he remains important in key moments and the semi-final proved it. It's up to Victor Wembanyama, Guerschon Yabusele and Nicolas Batum to take turns to contain him… even if they'll also have to deal with LeBron James and Joel Embiid!
