Kevin Durant responds to criticism from Andre Iguodala

We know that Kevin Durant can sometimes be on edge about what can be said about him in the media. Here's one more episode that turned into psychodrama for little reason. At the beginning, Andre Iguodala wanted to offer a compliment about Kevin Durant's work ethic, which is primarily focused on the game.

Except that in his argument, Iggy added that his former teammate at the Warriors neglected the bodybuilding part, which did not please the person at all.

“There is only one flaw in KD's game, and it has nothing to do with basketball. KD's only weakness is that he won't lift cast iron. That's all “, said Andre Iguodala in his podcast “Point Forward,” speaking to former player Evan Turner. “He's not going to come on the podcast so we can ask him why he's doing this. But if you watch him train, it's one of the most beautiful things I've seen. Everyone should go see how he trains. It will be the most beautiful 30 minutes you will ever see in your life. The ball enters the circle exactly the same way every time. Bottom of a circle, bottom of a circle…”.

Durant wants to correct the lies about himself

Coated with compliments, the dig may be surprising, since Andre Iguodala now occupies a position of great responsibility within the players' union, and his primary role is therefore to defend them and not to criticize them publicly, even if he acted with clumsy flattery. Above all, Iggy knew that this little tackle would not fail to make him react. He knows the personality of KD, whom he worked with for three years at Golden State from 2016 to 2019. And there was no shortage of that, since Kevin Durant in turn let off steam on Twitter.

“Now here I am not lifting weights, Okay man… These guys are talking nonsense on these podcasts”he first said, repeating the extract from Andre Iguodala.

He then attacked anonymous people accusing him of whining to justify his exit. “I never understood why most of you on these networks are so upset that I correct lies about me.” He also gave it another layer by explaining why the whole world hates him according to him, referring to his departure from OKC to join Golden State in the summer of 2016.

“I hurt them on July 4, 2016 (the date he announced his departure from OKC) and ever since they have been plotting on how they could get me back. It’s deeper than you think.”

Another unfortunate episode from which no one will grow up…
