Kevin Durant and the Nets eagerly await Kyrie Irving’s return

When will Kyrie Irving return to the Nets? The latest statements from Adam Silver, Joe Tsai and the players’ union set the stage for the return of the point guard, who has finished serving his minimum five-game suspension imposed by Brooklyn following his sharing of a conspiratorial and anti-Semitic film about the social networks.

While he eventually apologized, the All-Star has yet to meet with representatives of Brooklyn’s Jewish community and complete an anti-hate awareness program.

We should therefore not find him this evening, during the match against the Lakers in Los Angeles, and according to ESPN, there is little chance that he will rejoin the team in the heart of the “road trip”, in Sacramento on Tuesday then in Portland on Thursday. The closest option would therefore be a return next Sunday, at home, against the Grizzlies.

“I can’t wait to play (with him), you know Ky, he’s a player, he loves the game”explained Kevin Durant, who explained that the morale of his comrade was very good at the moment. “So hopefully that’s all over, that we can move on and find him on the court soon.”

Nevertheless, the winger isn’t certain about his teammate’s return date.

“It’s out of our control. As players, we try to focus on matches, training. We’re just trying to focus because it’ll be solved when it’s solved. This is all beyond us globally at the moment, so we just have to control what we can control”.

Not to mention that the team’s victories also help to manage the situation much more calmly.
