Decisions on whether or not to activate “player options” continue to be made day after day and The Athletic teaches us that Keita Bates-Diop chooses not to test the market this summer. He will therefore receive 2.7 million dollars at Brooklyn in 2024–25.
This season, “KBD” will have had two franchises: the Nets therefore, but also the Suns, where he signed free last summer before being traded during the trade deadline. Two passages which will not have really convinced, the winger averaging 3.7 points and 2.1 rebounds over the campaign, at 43% shooting (including 30% at 3-points). A far cry from what he was able to produce at Spurs the previous season…
Keita Bates-Diop's decision is therefore, all in all, quite logical, especially since he was faced with a stress fracture to the right tibia last March. To see if he will manage to find a place in the New York rotation, alongside Jordi Fernandez, while Mikal Bridges, Cam Johnson, Dorian Finney-Smith or even Dariq Whitehead, even Ben Simmons, are also capable of evolving on posts 3/4.
