Kawhi Leonard still absent, but the Clippers are not worried

Despite the crutch received by Grant Williams, Kawhi Leonard finished the game against the Mavericks. It was the 9th consecutive victory for the Clippers, who moved up the rankings behind the effectiveness of “The Klaw”.

At a press conference after the match against Dallas, the Californian winger assured that there was nothing serious. Except that ultimately, he has just missed a fourth consecutive game, and he has not yet returned to training.

“He is progressing but he is not yet authorized to play” detailed Tyronn Luewho clarified that his player has in fact aggravated a hip problem that he had had since the beginning of December. “He made it worse and he played anyway. And then there was the game against Dallas and that was the last straw. »

Paul George not worried

For Kawhi Leonard, who had not missed a single match since the start of the season, and who seemed to have returned to 100% of his capabilities, it is therefore a setback. While his teammates had to relearn how to play without him.

“We know it will take time for Kawhi to return to the team, but we know what awaits us and what we have to do, it’s not something surprising”however reassured Paul George.

Severely beaten by the Thunder and the Celtics following the injury of “The Klaw”, the Clippers have since recovered against the Hornets then against Ja Morant's Grizzlies.

“He looks good, he seems to be getting better and better, but we know it’s not serious”concludes Paul George. “He will come back when his body is back to where it needs to be. But, again, our job is to continue to play at the same level. We are playing very good basketball this December.”
