Kawhi Leonard already extends to the Clippers

It had already been several months since the Clippers negotiated the extension of Kawhi Leonard (but also Paul George), without however rushing to do so, and now the Californian franchise has made it official the re-signing of his superstar. Details of this new deal are not yet known at the moment but it can, at most, receive nearly $223 million over four years.

Excellent news for Los Angeleswho will move to the Intuit Dome next season and who has already secured the presence of the key player in his project, launched in the summer of 2019. However, he had the opportunity to test the market this summer, by declining its “ player option » of 48.8 million dollars, but he therefore preferred to move back to LA now.

Return to foreground successful

We imagine that the Clippers were also reassured by the solid start to the season of Kawhi Leonard, author of 23.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 1.8 interceptions on average, at 52% shooting (including 43% at 3-points) and 87% on throws. Gradually gaining strength, he above all confirmed that he was 100% recovered by taking part in the first 27 games of his franchise (before missing four, then returning to business).

All that will remain is for him to have a successful playoff run with Los Angeles, as was the case in San Antonio then Toronto. Currently 4th in the Western Conference (23-13) and in great form (20 wins in their last 26 games), Tyronn Lue's men will be taken seriously next spring, with James Harden at the helm and the Leonard duo /George to take care of the rest…
