Karl-Anthony Towns’ farewell to “the Wolves family”

After settling some technical details, and involving eight players in the transaction, the Knicks and the Wolves formalized the arrival of Karl-Anthony Towns in New York, essentially in exchange for Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo. Present in the “Big Apple” for several days, the All-Star interior took up his pen to thank the franchise and its inhabitants.

“To the Timberwolves family:

Nine years ago, I arrived in Minnesota as a young man full of dreams. Little did I know that this place would become my home and that its inhabitants would become my family. Your love, support, and unwavering loyalty have fueled my journey and inspired me to become the best player I can be.

I thank my teammates, my coaches and the entire Timberwolves organization for the countless moments and experiences they have given me. I will cherish the friendships I made and the battles we fought together.

To the incredible fans, your support has meant a lot to me. He gave me strength on and off the field. I will never forget it.

You will always hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for everything.

For his part, Julius Randle scored with a simple “Thank you New York!” » posted this Sunday. It was his wife, Kendra, who spoke at greater length on social networks, talking about their son.

“I am forever grateful for this experience. New York has been amazing for our family,” she wrote. “Kye Kye grew up at the Garden. We came here when he was a year and a half and this year he will be 8 years old. So many of you welcomed him and made this experience unforgettable, and I will be forever grateful. These are mixed times, but I'm very excited to start a new chapter for our family. »
