Kansas State already extends its coach

In the offices of the basketball program director Kansas Statethere is now no longer any doubt that Jerome Tang is the man for the job, and that he will settle in for the long term at the head of the Wildcats.

The university located on the Manhattan campus has indeed announced that its coach, hired last spring after 19 seasons spent on Scott Drew’s staff at Baylor, had already extended his contract.

It is more precisely a restructuring of his contract, with an initial duration of six seasons. The native of the island of Trinidad thus adds two additional seasons to his current contract, which now binds him to the Wildcats until 2030. Regarding his salary, he will receive $3 million this season, then receive a bonus of $100,000 each season, until reaching a salary of $3.6 million during the 2029/30 season.

I announced that I was not coming here to rebuild, but to take this program to the top “, thus declared Jerome Tang. “ Last year was a success, and it’s only the beginning. »

The first of Jerome Tang’s mandate, Kansas State’s 2022/23 season was indeed a great success: 26 wins and 10 losses (including 11 wins and 7 losses in the Big 12 conference) in the regular season, then a magnificent run to the gates of the “Final Four” of “March Madness” in March.

This season, the Wildcats will once again be among the heavyweights of the very tough Big 12, after replacing Markquis Nowell (Raptors) and Keyontae Johnson (Thunder) with Tylor Perry (ex-North Texas) and Arthur Kaluma (ex-Creighton ).
