Kai Jones sidelined for start of Hornets training camp

A few days ago, we wondered if Kai Jones was going to stay in Charlotte, as the attitude of the pivot on social networks was so strange. The 19th choice of the 2021 Draft notably claimed to be better than Shaquille O’Neal or LeBron James, especially criticizing his teammates by explaining that they were limited compared to him…

An attitude, coupled with his absence from the summer sessions, certainly optional, which did not bode well.

Steve Clifford quickly dismissed the subject during his back-to-school press conference but, a few days before the start of training camp, the very presence of Kai Jones with his teammates was in question.

So it’s no big surprise. that Shams Charania announces that the 22-year-old interior will not be there for the restart. Our colleague assures that Kai Jones will miss the “training camp” for “personal reasons”, while the North Carolina franchise “remains in constant communication with him”.

A polite way to keep the third pivot away from the Hornets group to avoid disrupting it?
