Kai Jones gets new chance with Clippers

Kai Jones clings to his NBA dream. Shams Charania reports that the interior has just agreed with the Clippers for the signing of a non-guaranteed contract. He therefore obtains an opportunity to earn his place in the Californian workforce for next year… even if it is full for the moment.

This is the second opportunity of its kind in Los Angeles for the 23-year-old player, already recruited in mid-April ahead of the playoffs. The pivot, who had been with the Sixers a few weeks earlier, had ultimately not been used by Tyronn Lue.

The Bahamas native didn't play on an NBA court last season, and made just two G-League appearances, averaging 11 points and 7.5 rebounds. It remains to be seen if he can find stability with the Clippers.

It should be remembered that the 19th pick in the 2021 Draft was previously cut by the Hornets after some rather strange statements on social media.

I think I was trying to shut out the negative voices in my head because, to be honest, I didn't want to die. He was one of the first people in my family that I'd ever seen die like that. I was like, 'What? I don't want to die. I want to live forever.' I'm trying to pray really hard and the voices in my head are like, 'You know, you could die if you don't hold on to life.' “, Kai Jones tried to explain last March, when he had lost several members of his family during this complicated period.
