Julius Randle aims for the best season of his career

With 25.1 points on average, Julius Randle just had the best season of his career, but his playoffs were disappointing. Hit in the left ankle at the end of the regular season, the Knicks’ All-Star interior suffered to find his feelings against the Cavaliers and the Heat, and he could not evolve at his best level.

Operated last June, and soon to be 29 (he will be in November), the former Lakers believes that he will enter what the Americans call the “prime”, that is to say the most beautiful years of a sportsman.

“My personal trainer and I were talking about it, those years,” he explains in remarks reported by the Daily News. “I think you’re in it when the physical meets the mental. Physically, I think I will achieve my best season. And mentally, I took a step because I was forced to slow down. I couldn’t train. »

Julius Randle aims for the title

Since he was away from the field, Julius Randle studied his opponents during his rehabilitation. “I learned a lot from LeBron James. I watched his way of using angles. Jimmy Butler too, during the playoffs. I watched all these guys. We are all copiers deep down, we learn from each other. »

The individual objective of the double All-Star for the 2023/2024 campaign is therefore known: to experience its most successful season. But collectively? “We haven’t finished the job. We did the second round and we aspire to go further. We want to win the title. »
