Josh Hart has found the rhythm, and the smile

He will only have sulked for a few days! While he expressed at the start of the week his wish to touch more of the leather in the Knicks attack, Josh Hart has already found a smile and his usual infectious joy of living, after the great victory of new York in Toronto last night.

A victory in the manner in which he was indeed one of the great architects by compiling 17 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists coming off the bench, notably scoring 15 points in a row in the space of three minutes at the end of the third quarter -time ! A moment in the game which coincided with the final acceleration of the Knicks.

I didn't know it was that much », said a smiling Josh Hart, clearly not that unhappy. “ I would have liked to know that. I would have let go! I would have tried to reach 20 or 25 points. I had a hot hand, that’s for sure. But I didn't think about that until I was told that I had scored 15 points in a row. »

In a more serious tone, the New York all-rounder subsequently explained that his remarks at the start of the week were in no way a criticism aimed at his team. But rather the loud manifestation of a frustration, that of not managing to always find his rhythm, especially with regard to his shooting (3/4 three-pointers against the Raptors).

More pace for less calculations

I'm not really unhappy in the collective. I'm trying to find my feet, to take my rhythm. I feel like I've been doing a better job at this level over the past few matches. », he confirms in fact, while he actually seems to (re)find his rhythm since for the second time in three matches he finished with the best +/- of his team among the players on the bench. “ It's just about being aggressive and, when a teammate finds me open, not hesitating to shoot, and thus finding my game. »

All's well that ends well in New York, so Tom Thibodeau even allows himself to close the subject with humor. “ How many did he score? [« 15 de suite », lui répond un journaliste]. That’s not bad! », concludes “Thibs”, with a rare smile visible in the middle of his face.
