Removed from the rotation by Stephen Silas and in need of playing time, Josh Christopher had agreed to return to the G-League to find some rhythm and sensations. The rear fulfilled the contract with 25.5 points on average at 56% success, and his exit to 28 points against the Iowa Wolves will have been his last since the Rockets recalled him in stride with a view to reinstating him. Why not tonight against the Mavericks?
“He did a very good job in the G-League,” estimated Stephen Silas. “It’s hard to play 11 or 12 guys every night. But when his name is called, he will be ready. It’s difficult to find yourself in a position to recover more playing time. In the G-League he was able to play freely, and that’s what I want him to do here with us.
For Josh Christopher, who had shown good things last season, this return sounds like a new beginning. The rear is in any case motivated by the idea of finding the NBA.
“I can defend and score, I am a Swiss army knife. I feel like I had a good rookie year. You know what I can bring to the team. I am like a spark. When the guys decide to play me, I’ll be ready.”, he confided. “Last year too, I went to the G-League. When I came back, I played. This is my hope”.
His return could be a significant boost for Stephen Silas’ team, as Houston remains on four straight losses, and remained stuck in last place in the Western Conference.
