To get its first participation in the Olympic Games since 2004 in Athens (including a gala victory against Team USA and a sixth place at the time), Puerto Rico will be able to count on Jose Alvarado.
The Pelicans playmaker is in fact part of the group which will compete in the TQO, notably along with Tremont Waters, former teammate of Victor Wembanyama in France and whose performances at the 2023 World Cup were excellent. He averaged 20 points, 9.2 assists, 4 rebounds and 2.6 steals.

As a reminder, Puerto Rico will have the chance to play the pre-Olympic tournament at home, in San Juan and at the beginning of July, against Italy (its executioner in the second round of the World Cup, finished in 12th place), Bahrain , Lithuania, Mexico and Ivory Coast.
