Jordan Clarkson and Jazz discuss contract extension

Unlike Rudy Gobert, Donovan Mitchell and Bojan Bogdanovic, Jordan Clarkson was not transferred this summer, and at first, we cannot say that he was frankly packed. Here is what he said when he started training camp.

It’s hard to come down from where you were. We won for three years in a row. We had the best record in the league two years ago. Last year wasn’t the best, but we still finished in the top four in the West. We had another chance to win a championship and everything was ruined. It’s frustrating, but tomorrow is another day and we have to find a solution. »

The Jazz found the solution: a young coach, with modern ideas. Will Hardy achieves feats with a heterogeneous workforce, and Clarkson took over from Mitchell on post 2. His experience is a plus in this rejuvenated workforce, and he signs his best season in points and assists. Its behavior is exemplary, to the point that now we are talking about extending it!

According to Bleacher Report, the Clarkson camp and the management have started discussions, and the goal is simple for the Jazz: to avoid being a free agent on July 1st since the former best sixth man of the year has a release clause to make a cross on a final season at $14.3 million. Given the current salaries, and given that he will be one of the most interesting free agents on the market, he could do a nice somersault.
