Ten days after activating his “player option”, then requesting his transfer, James Harden is still at the Sixers. The market was not enthusiastic about this announcement, and with the exception of the Clippers, no team seems really determined to recruit him. Especially since it will be as part of an exchange, and James Harden is in his last year of contract.
The fact remains that this decision surprised everyone at the Sixers, and Joel Embiid does not hide his disappointment. The two finished, respectively, the NBA’s leading scorer and leading passer, and their tandem could continue to function under the thumb of Nick Nurse, the successor to Doc Rivers.
