Joel Embiid has chosen the United States for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Something promised, something due, Joel Embiid ended the suspense over the country he will represent in Paris for the 2024 Olympic Games. The message from Grant Hill, the GM of the selection, was convincing since The Athletic announces that the Sixers pivot has decided to play for the United States! He warned Grant Hill this Thursday, from Colorado where the Sixers are in training.

Even if Cameroon will play the pre-Olympic tournament, and even if France had been in contact with him for more than a year, Embiid therefore preferred the American selection.

Only 4th in the last World Cup, Team USA will go to Paris with an exceptional squad since LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have already announced that they want to play in Paris. If we add Embiid, we have a quartet of MVPs capable of maintaining the domination of the United States over the Olympic Games since 2008. This “Fab Four” will be surrounded by top players since Kawhi Leonard, Damian Lillard, Devin Booker, Bam Adebayo, Bradley Beal or Jaylen Brown, Donovan Mitchell And DeMar DeRozan have applied for the Olympics.

On the French team side, it is the end of a suspense more disturbing than anything else, and the Blues will hold a press conference on October 10 to take stock of the selection. With Victor Wembanyama and Rudy Gobert under the panels, the Blues will have something to answer for!
