Cut by the Raptors after a summer league deemed disappointing (13.5 pts / m), Joe Wieskamp bounced back quickly as he will be dressed for Mavericks training camp. Dallas announced three signings, and the former Raptors and Spurs shooter will be competing with Greg Brown for a roster spot. The last signed, Jordan Walker, will try to win a “two-way contract”.
Author of 27 points this summer against the Warriors, Wieskamp is the 41st choice of the 2021 Draft, and he had played 29 games with the Spurs during his rookie year. Enough to land a contract of 4.4 million dollars over two years, before finally being cut.
In Toronto, he will be much less in demand with only 9 points in 9 matches…
Same scenario for Greg Brown III, author of a correct rookie season in Portland, before disappearing completely from the rotation during his second year.
