Joe Harris is already retiring from the sport

At only 32 years old, Joe Harris decided to end his career ! Winner of the 3-point contest in 2019 and an American international, the former Nets shooter had only played 16 games this season with the Pistons before being cut last February. Selected in 33rd position in the 2014 Draft by the Cavaliers, Harris had spent his first two seasons in the shadow of Cleveland's superstars, playing a very limited role.

After a stint in the G-League and a major injury, Harris was outright traded to the Nets in January 2016, and it was there that his career would really take off. Under coach Kenny Atkinson, Harris became one of the best 3-point shooters in the league. After two years in Brooklyn, he became a starter and won the 3-point shooting contest at All-Star Weekend. He finished the season at 47.4% from 3-point range, and no one did better that year.

One mission: Spread the game for Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving

His profile is so interesting that he joined Team USA for the 2019 World Cup, and in 2020 he got a nice contract extension: $75 million over four years! Unfortunately, after this contract extension, he will not be of much help to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Even if in 2021, he also wins the title of most skillful shooter in the NBA, a series of ankle problems limits him to only 14 games during the 2021-2022 season.

His serious ankle injury left after-effects, and he never regained his level of play. Finally, the Nets traded him to the Pistons a year ago, but his physical condition no longer followed. He played a handful of games for 2.4 points per game, and the management preferred to cut him with a big check: $19.9 million. In his career, Harris will have shot 43.6% on 3-pointers, and that puts him in the Top 5 in history!
