JJ Redick officially met with Lakers executives

Dan Hurley having refused the position, the Lakers are still looking for Darvin Ham's successor on their bench.

And as announced by ESPN in recent days, it is Saturday that JJ Redick has met Los Angeles leaders for the first time. Until now, the former Duke and Clippers shooter had simply had contact with Rob Pelinka, the vice president of basketball operations and GM of the Lakers.

Things are therefore intensifying for JJ Redick, who becomes the third man to meet the management of the “Purple & Gold”, after Dan Hurley, but also James Borrego, also in the race for the position of the Cavaliers.

Ideally, the Lakers would logically like to have their coach in place for the Draft, on June 26, so that the future “head coach” is involved in the choice concerning the club's 17th choice.

If JJ Redick passed his interview, things could settle down quickly. If owner Jeanie Buss and other decision-makers are not convinced, however, the club could then choose to meet with other candidates, such as assistants Sam Cassell (Boston), David Adelman (Denver) and Micah Nori (Minnesota).
