Jim Boylen becomes an assistant at Indiana

Draft Combine director and Team USA coach for the 2023 World Cup qualifiers, Jim Boylen hasn’t really been bored since leaving Chicago in 2020, after two seasons leading the Bulls. He was even a consultant for the Pacers last season.

And it will continue to move for him since Rick Carlisle explained himself that his bench was going to have a new face for the 2023/2024 financial year.

Ronald Nored, who worked a lot on the defense of Indiana last season, will join the Hawks and Quin Snyder, who continues to assemble his staff, after two seasons in Indiana. To replace him on the bench, Jenny Boucek will take the lead. The latter was already working with the coach in Dallas, then she followed Rick Carlisle to Indiana in 2021.

And to take the place left by Jenny Boucek, it is therefore Jim Boylen who becomes assistant. A role he knows well since he had been assistant to Frank Vogel at the Pacers between 2011 and 2013.

“Jim is a former coach so we can’t wait to have him with us in the franchise,” said Rick Carlisle. “He’s equally excited to join us in a role off the bench, which says a lot about him, his love of the franchise and the sacrifices he’s willing to make to join us. It’s amazing. »
