Jazz matches broadcast for free next season

As in Phoenix for the Suns, it’s the return of Jazz games for free on TV! The Salt Lake City-based franchise has announced that KJZZ-TV will air the games of Lauri Markkanen’s teammates on the over-the-air network starting next season. This local television channel will thus broadcast all Jazz matches that are not nationally televised from October onwards.

The length and terms of the deal with KJZZ were not disclosed, but franchise owner Ryan Smith said it was more of a partnership than a deal.

“It’s not a long-term deal, but with that flexibility…and if we’re good partners with KJZZ, we’ll continue. If we are not good partners, we will stop” told the owner. “That’s how it should be, unlike most old chord patterns which, in the end, are completely unbalanced in one way or another”.

Creation of a unique streaming platform

At the same time, Smith Entertainment Group, the parent company of the Utah Jazz, announced the creation of SEG Media, a new production company that will distribute Jazz matches through a streaming platform. It will be by subscription, and it will allow fans who do not live in the region to see the matches live on a connected TV, smartphone or computer. A kind of mini League Pass dedicated to Jazz.

Additionally, the platform will feature never-before-seen content with behind-the-scenes footage and interviews. The rates are not yet known, but the owner assures that it will be reasonable.

“Our priority has always been to provide fans with the best possible experience. When we took over the team, 39% of Utah households had the ability to watch Jazz games” adds Ryan Smith. “This new approach is one of the most significant investments we’ve made since acquiring the team, allowing us to bring Utah Jazz games to more than 3.3 million Utah area residents. ».
