Jazz is betting on streaming

After the Clippers and the Suns, it is the Jazz’s turn to abandon cable channels for its regular season matches, since the franchise has decided to launch its own streaming service, the Jazz+. It’s a sort of League Pass dedicated to the Jazz’s 82 regular season games, and it will cost $125.5 per year for area fans. This service is offered in parallel with free broadcasting on the terrestrial network of the local channel KJZZ.

At this price, they are obviously entitled to all the matches of Lauri Markkanen and his teammates, but also to exclusive content such as preseason matches, training sequences, and services such as comments in Spanish. For those who subscribe before October 24, as a bonus, a T-shirt and two tickets to a Jazz match.

“We realize that not everyone is at home every night to watch the game on their TV,” explains Jazz president Jim Olson. “So streaming is an essential element. So we set out very early on to create a streaming service that we control, that is branded, that we own. It’s not a third party. It’s not someone else who has ulterior motives. We want a streaming service that speaks directly to our customers.”

There is also a monthly subscription at $15.50, but also “pay-per-view” at $5 per match.

Jazz+ will be available from the Jazz website and the application of the franchise. Once the season begins, we will also be able to connect via Apple TV, Android TV and other connected televisions.
