Jaylen Brown Repeats Nike Behind His Absence From Team USA

A prestigious spectator for the Summer League meeting between the Lakers and the Celtics: Jaylen Brown.

Alongside him were basketball players Angel Reese and Kysre Gondrezick, and the MVP of the last Finals did not escape a question about his absence from Team USA and his reaction filled with frustration.

“I was not surprised” he confirms. “But my reaction was to be happy for D. White. It's great to have so many of our (Celtics) guys on the roster, and I'm happy for them. I called Derrick right away. Just to clear up any confusion, to tell him how much I love him. He knows that, and we're great.”

Any revelations to make?

Is he still convinced that Nike played a role in his non-selection? “Of course I think so! There will be more to come on this subject. For now, I will not make any further comments.”

On the Federation side, Grant Hill had joked about the fact that he had played in Fila almost his entire career, before insisting on the complementarity of the players. According to him, Derrick White fit better with the other elements of the group.

“We have to build a team, and one of the hardest things is leaving out guys that I’m a fan of and look forward to watching throughout the season, throughout the playoffs. Guys that have been Finals MVPs, guys that have been a part of the program, guys that have won gold medals. Guys that I respect and admire and enjoy watching. But the responsibility that I have is to build a team and a group that complements each other. As far as the theories that are out there, they’re just theories.”
