Jaylen Brown: “Our biggest game of the season”

The Celtics' unbeaten home run was in jeopardy Friday night as Jaylen Brown and his teammates faced the Magic without Al Horford, Kristaps Porzingis and Luke Kornet. In the end, there was no problem, with a big victory.

With 43 points, the Boston bench did the job. In detail, Payton Pritchard scored 21 points, while Sam Hauser and Oshae Brissett added 11 units each.

“A lot of the guys work behind the scenes, so it’s great to see them get an opportunity to show off,” book Jaylen Brown for The Athletic. “Pritchard and Hauser raised their game, Brissett and Lamar Stevens contributed by playing hard. It was a true team victory. »

A great performance from the substitutes

Jayson Tatum also highlights the performance of his teammates. “It will be much more important, in the long term, than relying on Brown or me,” he warns. “We have to give confidence to these players and I like what I see at the moment. Pritchard and Hauser have confidence, they play well. We have players who are contributing even though they haven't played for a long time. The energy is good. »

As the interiors were absent, the Celtics could not rely on their size to dominate the Magic. “Our advantage in this match was our speed, on the sides of the field,” underlines Joe Mazzulla in the face of the 14 balloons stolen by his troops. “We have outside players, so our strong point was speed and we want to play like that all the time. Whether we run on a scored or missed basket,” insists and asks Jaylen Brown.

The latter thus believes that with this success against the Magic, the 2022 finalists signed their most successful match of the season. “I think this is, in my opinion, our biggest game of the season. We had a lot of absentees and we were back-to-back against a team that had kicked our butts in the last duels. »
