Javonte Green, the Pelicans' 15th and final recruit

Last season, Javonte Green spent most of the season in the G-League and it was only at the very end of the regular season that the winger (again) joined the Bulls, the time to participate in nine games. Javonte Green's performances during the last month of the regular season surely caught the eye of the Pelicans management since they have just signed him for one year at minimum wage.

In his nine games played with the Bulls, the winger averaged 12.2 points on 60% shooting, including 37% from long range, and 7.4 rebounds on average in 26 minutes of play. Javonte Green notably broke his career high in points in a game against the Knicks. After receiving a kick in the face that earned Josh Hart an ejection, Green sent 25 points and 13 points in the victory over the Knicks.

A full squad with a big hole in the racket…

The signing of Javonte Green allows the Pelicans to bring a little more depth on the guard and wing positions. He will face competition from CJ McCollum and Brandon Ingram, the holders of the positions 2 and 3, but also from Trey Murphy III, Herbert Jones or Jordan Hawkins.

With six weeks to go before training camp, the Pelicans are at full strength with 15 players under contract. But there is still a significant size and weight deficit in the paint since Jonas Valanciunas was not replaced.
