Jarred Vanderbilt excited about ‘new start’ in Utah

At only 23 years old, and with already four seasons in the NBA on the clock, Jarred Vanderbilt will know his third franchise at the start of the school year. A discreet rookie in Denver during the 2018/19 season, then transferred to Minnesota the following season, in a four-team transfer that notably sent Clint Capela to Atlanta, the strong winger then really launched his career at Wolves, where he notably imposed himself in the five majors last season.

Unsurprisingly, his progress did not go unnoticed by Danny Ainge, who made him a central part of the consideration received in the transfer of Rudy Gobert.

In a largely rejuvenated Jazz workforce, and for good looking to the future, the strong winger is thus beginning a new chapter in his young career, within a franchise which is also entering a new era.

It’s a new beginning, for sure. In a career, as soon as you win a team, it’s a new start, and an opportunity to continue to progress, in a different context. It’s my aimso he said. ” Something special is being built here. It’s a new beginning for everyone, with new staff and many new players. For now, we are still getting to know each other.

Probable holder of one of the two wing positions, certainly alongside Lauri Markkanen who is coming out of a successful EuroBasket, Jarred Vanderbilt has only one objective, individually: to continue his progress.

I want to continue to progress in attack particularly, to become a better finisher, to improve in shooting. I feel like I have passed a milestone every year, so I want to continue on this path. I gain experience from year to year, and therefore I progress. […] I still have a long way to go, but here in Utah, I will be given the opportunity to take another step forward. Even though I’ve been in the league for almost five years, I’ve only really played major minutes for two years. So I’m excited for this new start.
