If the Sixers quietly dominated the Nets last night, they still experienced a big scare, since Jared McCain ended up in hospital following a nasty fall on his back…
While trying to grab the offensive rebound, after missing his shot, the young point guard was slightly unbalanced in the air, and he fell completely flat on his back. Writhing in pain, he had great difficulty regaining his breath and so left the match, before going to a hospital to be examined.
“It was violent”, explained Nick Nurse, Sixers coach. “He’s going to go to the hospital to get checked out. Clearly he was having trouble breathing, he may have been short of breath, I'm not sure what happened, but I've never seen that before. Let’s hope he’s okay and wait for the doctors’ verdict.”
Selected in 16th position in the last Draft, Jared McCain had compiled 9 points (3/10 shooting), 7 rebounds, 2 assists but 5 lost balls in 23 minutes on the floor before his big fall.
