Jared Butler lands a two-way contract in Washington

The quest for the right NBA opportunity continues for Jared Butler. After a discreet rookie season in Utah, followed by a second campaign mainly spent in the G-League, the leader university champion in 2021 with Baylor will this time try his luck on the side of Washingtonwhere it integrates the Wizards in a two-way contract.

Author of a rather successful Summer League with the Thunder, earlier this month in Las Vegas, Jared Butler thus offers himself the bare minimum for next season by securing one of the three “two-way contracts” from the Wizards, who also at the same time released Quenton Jackson, who previously held one of these three contracts.

In a team in complete transition, towards a long-term overhaul of its workforce, the 22-year-old “combo guard” has in any case a card to play as a relay for Tyus Jones and Jordan Poole, while Delon Wright’s future is clearly not in the American capital, even if he will probably first have to earn his stripes in the G-League before Wes Unseld Jr. calls on him.
