After making a financial sacrifice last summer so the Sixers could sign PJ Tucker and a few free agents, James Harden could finally leave Philadelphia during the next free agency! This is what announces ESPNwho explains that the 2018 MVP “ seriously considering to return to Houston, even if a very good run in the playoffs could change his mind.
It has been several months since Harden and his entourage considered returning to the Rockets, which he left two years ago after a standoff with the leaders at the start of the season. First transferred to the Nets where things didn’t really go well, he had asked to leave last spring to finally land at the Sixers.
Last July, Harden decided to give up on his last year of contract to sign a new contract of 68.6 million dollars over two years. A 1+1 type contract which allows him to be a free agent again in July 2023. It will be up to him to decide with a “player option”.
On the side of Philadelphia, we want to extend Harden, whose complicity with Joel Embiid is improving from match to match.
