Jameer Nelson moves up the ranks with the Sixers in the G-League

In October 2020, Jameer Nelson was named scout and above all assistant GM of the Delaware Blue Coats, the Sixers’ affiliate team in the G-League. Three years later, the former Magic leader is gaining ground since ESPN tells us that he has just been named GM of the G-League team.

The 2009 All-Star (878 career matches for an average of 11.3 points) replaces Prosper Karangwa in this position, who has also just had a promotion, joining the offices of the NBA franchise in Philadelphia.

A child from Pennsylvania

Now at the helm, Jameer Nelson, a native of Chester, near Philadelphia, and star player at the local faculty of St Joseph’s, will have some pressure because the team has been on excellent momentum for three seasons. The Blue Coats are indeed coming out of three Finals in a row.

The first two, in 2021 and 2022, were certainly lost, but last year, with Mac McClung and Jaden Springer, the players of Coby Karl (who was replaced by Mike Longabardi this summer) won the first title of their history facing the Rio Grande Vipers Valley.
