Paris remains a fashionable destination, for the league but also for NBA players and their equipment manufacturers. After LaMelo Ball, who came to do the show last Thursday, it’s Jamal Murrayfreshly NBA champion, who will stop in the French capital, in partnership with the NBA and its sponsor New Balance.
The league and the equipment manufacturer announced yesterday that the leader of the Nuggets would be the headliner of the “NBA 3X Paris”, a 3×3 tournament which will take place on June 24 and 25 on the playground of Square Alexandre Luquet (Paris , 20th), rue de Transvaal. For the occasion, the ground will be renovated and will benefit from modern equipment and installations.
Its inauguration will take place the day before, Friday June 23, with workshops organized for young local basketball players aged 10 to 15, because that is also the purpose of the operation: to help recreate the link and make available a functional tool for the local community.
Then, on the weekend, it’s time for the 3×3 tournament with 20 women’s teams and 20 men’s teams expected to do battle. Other activities will be scheduled, such as a dunk or 3-point shooting contest. The winners will win tickets to the next pre-season or regular season game to be held in Europe or the Middle East. Registrations are already open via this link (reserved for over 18s only).
“I can’t wait to see French talent take to the court and celebrate basketball in Paris,” Jamal Murray said. “I know that the French are passionate about this sport and I can’t wait to meet the fans! I will be there to cheer them on as they give it their all on the pitch to win this unique tournament.”
