Tyronn Lue may have lost Paul George, but his management is doing everything it can to keep the team competitive in the short and medium term. A new example is the announcement of the extension ofIvica Zubac. While he had the possibility of testing the market next season, the Croatian pivot signed a new contract of 58.6 million dollars over three years. Which allows him to be linked to the Clippers until 2028, and to be assured of receiving 70 million dollars.
In the NBA for eight years, and with the Clippers for five and a half seasons, Zubac remains on his best season in career in attack with 11.7 points and 9.2 rebounds on average. With his 64.9% shooting, he finished the season in 3rd place among the most skillful players, and in the playoffs, he had raised his level of play again to turn to 16.2 points on average in the series against the Mavericks.
A real bully
Another strong point is the defense of the circle. According to ESPNZubac has held his opponents to under 50% shooting from around the rim, and he leads the league in that advanced stat.
Orphaned by Paul George, the Clippers have extended James Harden's contract, and recruited Derrick Jones Jr (Mavs), Kevin Porter Jr. (Greece), Nicolas Batum (Sixers), Kris Dunn (Jazz) and Mo Bamba (Sixers)!
