Back in the G-League to hope to then return to the NBA, Isaiah Thomas made his debut for the Salt Lake City Stars on Thursday night, against the Texas Legends. His stat line? 32 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.
The former Boston player played Isaiah Thomas with a lot of shots, not always skillful (7/23 shooting including 5/17 at 3-pts), but he did not lose his left arm, with some winning shots on the defenders' heads.
He and his teammates quickly took control of the game, going up to 19 points in the second quarter and another 17 at halftime. The Texas Legends will react after the break, but with passes and points, Isaiah Thomas will make the difference in the last quarter (127-116).
Seeing the former All-Star (2016, 2017), who has not stepped on an NBA court since April 2022, dominate at the lower level is not a surprise since in 2021/22, he played four matches with the Grand Rapids Gold and posted an average of 41.5 points, including 42 points for his debut.
