Almost two years after his last appearance in the NBA, with Charlotte, Isaiah Thomas try for the umpteenth comeback since The Athletic specifies that he is committed to G-League. More precisely among Salt Lake City Starsthe Jazz-affiliated franchise of a certain Danny Ainge, its former president with the Celtics.
A return to the lower level for the former All-Star (2016, 2017), who had already passed through the G-League box in December 2021, for… 41.3 points, 6.3 assists and 3.7 rebounds on average (at 52% on shoots, 43% on 3-pointers and 78% on throws) with the Grand Rapids Gold (affiliated with the Nuggets). A short stint of only three games, which however helped “IT” to be recruited by the Lakers then the Mavericks, and finally the Hornets.
Of course, if Isaiah Thomas takes a step back, it is there again to aim higher behind, because he still only dreams of a return to the NBA, now over 35 years old. It remains to be seen whether a team, both Jazz and another, will decide to trust him and therefore offer him this chance after which he has been chasing for so long…
