Isaiah Stewart extends for $64 million over four years in Detroit

With Marvin Bagley III, James Wiseman and Jalen Duren, there are young interiors to develop at the Pistons. One could therefore wonder if they were still counting on Isaiah Stewart, their pivot holder for two years.

The answer is clearly yes since the 22-year-old comes to sign a four-year, $64 million contract extension with the Michigan franchise!

Because even if it is not the most gifted interior of the workforce, Isaiah Stewart has a blue-collar profile that appeals to the management of the club and the fans. Considered the “soul” of this young group, he is the fifth member of the 2020 Draft to be extended, after Anthony Edwards (Wolves), LaMelo Ball (Hornets), Tyrese Haliburton (Pacers) and Desmond Bane (Grizzlies). The difference is that he didn’t get the maximum amount…

However, it should be noted that he is the first player to sign a contract extension at the end of his rookie contract since the takeover of the club by Tom Gores in 2011. The latest? Jaxon Maxiell in 2008.

In 2016, Andre Drummond signed a new contract with the club as a protected “free agent”.
