It was the evening of prayers across the Atlantic. While Max Strus signed one of the shots of the year to win Cleveland against Dallas, Jarod Lucas set the NCAA on fire with a shot from elsewhere.
The leader won his Nevada college on the floor of Colorado State (74-77) thanks to a siren attempt from the middle of the field, returned with the board.
Jarod Lucas was keen to forget the end of the match in which he wasted several rounds of ammunition with a 1/4 throw in the last 30 seconds, with him shooting at over 91% in the exercise. Colorado State thought it had done the hard part by snatching overtime thanks to a basket from Isaiah Stevens with 2.5 seconds remaining.
Just enough for Jarod Lucas to put on a show after the throw-in, and therefore hit one of the craziest shots of the college season. The senior, who played at Oregon State at the start of his NCAA course, also scored 23 points to offer a 23rd victory in 29 games to his Nevada school.
