In great shape, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey push back the Bulls

For his big return to the field, Joel Embiid signed a major performance to allow the Sixers to win 108-100 on the Bulls floor. Author of 31 points and 12 rebounds, the 2023 MVP is supported by a super Tyrese Maxey, author of his first career triple-double with 25 points, 11 rebounds and 14 assists.

The Sixers, however, struggled to enter the match, starting with a 2 of 9 shooting. Embiid thus missed his first seven attempts, and the multiple ball losses allowed Coby White's Bulls to chain counterattacks to end the first quarter with a 10-point lead (33-23). After a quarter to get rid of rust, Embiid then took the match into his own hands, capable of scoring from any place on the field. In its wake, Philly signs a 15-0 to take control of the match. Off the bench, KJ Martin and Jared McCain bring energy, and they can respond to Chicago's speed, and at halftime, the Sixers lead by 12 points (62-50).

The Bulls are catching up

Returning from the locker room, Nick Nurse modifies his five with McCain in place of Guerschon Yabusele. With a super Maxey at work, the Sixers insisted and the gap reached 17 points (88-71). In defense, Paul George and Joel Embiid impress, and Kelly Oubre Jr. is responsible for transforming Maxey's caviars into a basket. A shot from midfield at the buzzer from Jalen Smith punctuates an 8-0 run for the Bulls to end the quarter below 10 points (88-79).

From 3-points or from the interception, Oubre restarts the machine but the Bulls can still create the perfect hold up. Especially since Zach LaVine has the hot hand. but the Maxey-Embiid duo scores the baskets at the right time and Oubre does not hesitate on free throws to push back the Bulls once and for all (108-100). This is the 4th victory in five matches for the Sixers.

WHAT TO REMEMBER

A decisive 15-0. After a very complicated start, Joel Embiid reassured everyone in the 2nd quarter. Too powerful and technical for Nikola Vucevic, the Cameroonian took the match on his own to start and complete a decisive 15-0.

First triple-double. Author of his first career triple-double, Tyrese Maxey also signed his career record in assists. His 3rd quarter was almost perfect with 12 points and 5 assists.

The second of the “Big Three”. For only the second time this season, Nick Nurse was able to line up Paul George, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey together. The first ended in a defeat against the Grizzlies, and the “Big Three” therefore unlocked their victory counter.
