The Mavericks have made the number change official of Tim Hardaway Jr. Monday, at the press conference presenting rookies Derek Lively II and Olivier-Maxence Prosper.
While he wore number 11 until now, the Dallas fullback/winger will move to number 10, the same as his father. It’s a nice nod since Tim Hardaway also wore number 10 in Dallas colors during his only season there, in 2001/02.
Kyrie Irving about to extend?
Tim Hardaway Jr. thus leaves number 11 available to Kyrie Irving, for a potential return, since the All-Stars leader is a free agent. At the same time, Derek Lively II opted for number 2, which Kyrie Irving wore at the end of last season.
Should we see this as a sign of more favorable to the re-signing of “Uncle Drew” in Dallas? We will soon find out. Dallas has in any case made it known that if he returned, it would be with this number on his back.
Olivier-Maxence Prosper opted for number 18, which had not been worn by the Mavs for 24 years.
