In Chicago, Billy Donovan already loses two assistants

Last week, Arturas Karnisovas announced changes for the coming summer in Chicago. These changes mainly concern its squad which lost at the gates of the playoffs against the Heat. On the other hand, the vice-president of the Bulls remained vague on the future of Billy Donovan's staff.

“We're going to get together with Billy, and we're going to get together with the staff” he explained. “ Like I said, we have to study everything. We have to review everything and come back next year in better shape. »

A priori, management wants to bring in new blood, since Chris Fleming is the first to pay the price for this restructuring. Former coach of the German team and former assistant to Kenny Atkinson at the Nets, he became Jim Boylen's main assistant in 2019. After the latter's dismissal, he remained on Billy Donovan's staff, notably thanks to his relationship with Coby White, with whom he had been close since his rookie season.

Furthermore, Mo Cheeks should change roles. Faithful right-hand man of Billy Donovan since the Thunder, the former coach of the Blazers and Pistons should leave his assistant position for another role within the franchise. Result: John Bryant, who led the team in Summer League, should take his place on the bench. Just like Josh Longstaff whose name is put forward to become Billy Donovan's first assistant.
