While his teammates from Les Bleus were facing Serbia in preparation for the Olympic Games, Nadir Hifihe, cut by Vincent Collet a few days ago, was preparing to play his first Summer League match with the Wolves.
Against the Pelicans, the Paris Basketball guard was entitled to 14 minutes off the bench. He used this playing time very well with a good stat sheet: 11 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 3 steals. All without losing the ball the least, and the Frenchman spent his time claiming the ball, and he used it perfectly.
In this victory, Nadir Hifi's teammate who showed himself the most was Terrence Shannon Jr. The latter, drafted in 27th position, scored 25 points at 9/14 shooting. “His tenacity is contagious,” explain Wolves coach Chris Hines. “He's very aggressive when he doesn't have the ball. He's like that. This kid is hungry, he wants to win and he's easy to coach.”
Rob Dillingham, on the other hand, the Spurs' 8th overall pick in the Draft, was traded, missing out, with only 4 points on 2/12 shooting. He is probably still paying for his truncated and limited preparation due to an ankle injury before the Draft.
“I didn't have my legs visibly,” he confides. “I'm not going to lie: not being myself usually drives me crazy, but this is a new sport. I'm not worried about my points, I feel like it's the other areas I need to be good at.”
