For three years, Hugo Besson moves a lot. After his first seasons in France, he moved to New Zealand in 2021, before being drafted in 2022 by the Pacers then sent to Milwaukee. He did not shine in Summer League, and therefore bounced back to the Mets 92, with Victor Wembanyama, in 2022/23.
Then after a preseason in Spain, with Baskonia, he signed up in Serbia, in Belgrade, with KK FMP, for two seasons. Finally, the full-back has not even completed a full year since he has just signed a contract, for several seasons, with the Italian club Varese.
“We are extremely happy with the signing of Hugo Besson. Hugo is a young player, with a great future ahead of him, but who can already be very useful to the team with his characteristics”, commented Matteo Jemoli, the deputy general manager of the club, of which Luis Scola has been the general manager since 2021.
After several seasons marked by team changes, will Hugo Besson (who will only be 23 years old in April), whose NBA rights still belong to the Bucks, finally find stability?
