Hornets sign Ish Smith

Already been through Charlotte in 2021/22 (4.5 points, 2.6 assists), Ish Smith comes back since The Athletic says that he joins the Hornets to play his 14th NBA season there. The difference being that, this time, he arrives in North Carolina with a whole new status of NBA champion.

A significant reinforcement up front for Steve Clifford’s men, who learned this weekend of the four-week absence of Frank Ntilikina, who was well on his way to being LaMelo Ball’s main rotation at position 1.

Instead, the leaders of the Hornets therefore opted for a more experienced profile (35 years old) and offensive (7.3 points, 3.8 assists in career), in the person of Ish Smith, who passed through Denver last season and incidentally a native of Charlotte . To sign the NBA franchise record holder (13!), we had to part ways with Edmond Sumner.
